Identification of oxidation products in commercial products

Identification of oxidation products, especially hydroperoxides, in commercial products is important in the preventive work of allergic contact dermatitis. We have, together with researchers at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, developed a new method using HPLC/MS techniques for quantification of terpene hydroperoxides. This is the first method developed that is sensitive enough to detect the easily decomposed hydroperoxides in commercial products.
